| It was a beautiful day yesterday, Connie approached our Midnight Magic
and Don Avante and haltered them both within a minute or two and we were
off for a walk. Don Avante walked confidently beside my wheelchair while
Magic took in the sights walking closely by Connie's side. Wow! I couldn't
believe this was happening... It was just a few weeks back when haltering
either of these boys would have been a job requiring some kind of trap
with tricks... I could write a caption for Magic saying "go ahead - make
my day!" if approached with a halter or catch rope... It was time for
these recruits to go to boot camp and it was a good time to wean them, so
off to camp Pendleton they went - actually it was Camp Cria at White Oak
Alpacas to do some time with Camelidynamics certified Practitioner Tiffany
Miller. We knew they would receive good care by Karin at White Oak Alpacas
and if they could learn anything, Tiffany w ould teach them... In six
weeks we attended their graduation and witnessed them stand tall, proud
and obey commands in a mock show... We are amazed at the difference in
their attitudes and character! We can only say "thanks Tiffany and Karin
for doing such a great job at your Camp Cria"

"I just wanted to let you know that Tahoe did very well at the show in
Albany the previous weekend. He got in and out of the trailer without much
coaxing and he did very well on the lead. In the ring, he was fairly calm
and showed well. Tahoe has a great personality to start with, but I'm sure
the training had very much to do with his confidence and comfort level in
doing all the things we ask these alpacas to do when we take them to
shows. It sure makes the whole show less stressful for me too."
